The Best Weight-loss Advice

I love food. I crave food. Taking off pounds is always hard for me. I don't believe in diets. You should exercise and eat right and you weight what you're suppose too. However, sometimes I don't want to eat right, even when I know I should. Over the past almost year, this is the best advice that has worked for me. Before getting pregnant with our youngest son, my weight was about 194lbs. October 31st 2019 (9 days to his arrival) I weighed in at 232. Of course, I lost some of that, but in the past year & a half I've hovered between 211-223.  211 was when I lost 12lbs over the summer to fit in my wedding dress. I did that by skipping lunch and jump roping everyday, so of course it was gained back very easily. I just didn't care about loosing weight, I love food, my husband loves me, so it was just never a priority.  However, the day came when my husband and I had the talk about our health and all the things we want to be able to do later in life. Which...

Drink The Good Wine

The year leading up to getting pregnant with our 4th child I stopped drinking. A lot went into the making of that baby, so cutting out alcohol was an easy first step towards that goal. I wasn't a heavy drinker, but I was a weekly drinker. A glass of wine was always the bottle, because "why not just finish it" right? I didn't miss the drinks once I stopped. In addition to our cause out weighting anything else, I found there wasn't reason for it. I wasn't a socially awkward as I once was. I didn't care to seek approval in others either, so the drinks weren't needed to calm my stomach when put in new situations. I was honest about what I expected from others, no alcohol needed to make me brave. I was to the point in life where my body needed two days for recovery, and I just didn't have that kind of time to waste.  Fast forward 3 years, I still don't drink. I don't miss it. If I need something to do with my hands anything bubbly wi...

Ditching Single Use Make Up Wipes

Ditching single use makeup wipes is an environmentally conscious choice. I always struggled because they are just so convenient and I could never find a routine I could stick with. When Garnier started making Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water I was hooked. In the evening I use it with The Green Co Reusable Makeup Remover Pads . This allows me to remove my full makeup from the day, then toss in my laundry. I actually use 2 (1 per side of my face) to remove my makeup. Each pack coming with 14 pads leaves me enough for the entire week. In the morning I add a dab to my Original Makeup Eraser . This allows me to clean my face and get rid on any remnants that surfaced over night. Leaving me with a fresh face for the new day.  This combination solved my struggle and allowed me to easily step away from single use wipes.

Day Off

Some days we need a break. Make sure to take it fully. Accept that today is your days off. Right a list of the minimal things that have to get done today to survive: feeding the family breakfast, lunch, dinner, taking a shower, feeding the cat. Do these things today as they come up, but don't dwell on them until its time. Thinking "I have to think about dinner in advance or there will be nothing on the table"? Have cereal, it's your day off. Put this list on your fridge. Now make another list of any lingering to-dos, or skip this step, put this list away. Let go of these things. Now that the things you want to accomplish aren't clouding your mind, enjoy your day off.

Life Changing Content

(Click the photo to find the books on Amazon) Let me go back to two years ago. I was working all the time. The same company, but in a different position than I am now. This is not in anyway because my work took advantage of me. Quite the opposite in fact, They are the most supportive, wonderful, and hard-working group of people. This makes it easy want to give it your all, and my all is a lot. However, pushing yourself all day really wears you down by the end of 8 hours. Then it's time to come home, and relax. Except it's not. There are 3 children at home, that need dinner, and help with homework. Followed by, cleaning up, getting ready for the next day, and now it's time for bed. But wait, I forgot to shower. Cue literally passing out as soon as I can wrap up the days to-dos. I always told myself we are living for the weekend, and that was enough? Did I mention we were saving money for surgery so we could have a 4th child. Did I mention the surgery was succ...
